I'd be half tempted to get a new 360 if I knew it'd be one of the newer models that are coming out/came out. Though my best choice may be just to wait until the successor comes out in awhile.

Does it really matter that much? It's an Xbox 360 either way and you're probably always going to get a refurbished one because Microsoft isn't going to give you a new one and they don't seem to actually fix yours. My theory is that they throw them in a cold storeroom and let them cool down and they swap the 360's.

Exactly. This way I have a 2 year warranty thru Best Buy as well, so if it breaks I can just take it to the store and walk out with a brand new one instead of another old one from MS.

yeah, No. I honestly don't care that much to get a dev box, I just want to get a 360 for 150 or less (need 40-50 for gas and such) but the only one I found was a Gamestop refurb with no Manufacturer warranty. Dunno how good they are, but the no manufacturers warranty thing scares me.
