I just put another fan into my case yesterday. I have the following fan setup so far:
2 In power supply [PSU] box
1 Blowing directly at my main Hdd
1 Blowing out the rear of the case
1 mounted in the side panel blowing outward
Thats a total of 5 fans and my PSU says "+3.3V & +5V:185W MAX ; TOTAL POWER=350W"
How can I tell how many fans my computer can handle?
How many fans is too many?
How many fans is too many?
Signature over 120 Pixels in Height.
the fan might have some sort of wattage on it's packaging. if not, you could search online and probably find it.
i would be more concerned over airflow inside the case, since you probably won't have enough plugs from the PSU and places to put the fans to have too many.

ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

I normally have 6 fans on my case, two of which arent hooked up to the computer whatsoever. They are attached to a rechargeable battery on the inside of the case. but for the summer, my graphics card is notorious for overheating in anything above room temperature and is recommended to get a better cooler for it, but since I don't have the money, I got a Honeywell desk fan and aimed it at the card and Processor.
