people of marsa LOL besides i went there last weekend to be attacked by a lovly bunch of xenomorphs and grunts.
as i strolled along the canyons i saw a group of marnes battling tripods and maratains then i saw a dalek.

yeah right there was life there or we be atttacked by grunts right now

Not Particularly.
I don't think you would have much to gain from beating up your baby cousin. I would also assume that you personally know your friend and would have a friendship that you don't want to violate.

An example I feel more fitting would be going to an isolated country that you share nothing in common with, and finding out they are powerless to you. This happened with Europe and Africa, and would probably happen again with other life forms, conditions permitting.

and adult predators only attack us because we want their technology.

as for aliens, they need to lay eggs somewhere! plus they don't actually have any sense of pity or remorse and find everything as a threat.

and i cant imagine how people are going to translate languages between species... hell, we cant even communicate with squirrels! (yet)

Human nature is based upon instinct, almost entirely crafted from the natural selection process. We seek food, because we need it to live. We seek a mate, because we need one to reproduce. We have a tendency to try to conform to social groups, because in a large group it is easier to defend against predators and hunt for food. This list goes on and on.

My point is that the same sort of beings tend to make the leap from cleverness, to sentience and sapience: The pack-minded predator/omnivore, usually one with dexterous appendages. Therefore, it is most likely that any intelligent extraterrestrial life form that we find will probably have the same instinctual imperatives as us.

Unfortunately, one of those is a tendency to pillage, destroy, and conquer.

i get that...

but something i always wonders, was how the Aliens even got here?
like i mean if you look at them they don't seem to be the type of creatures with the kind of ability to actually make a spaceship and fly it here....

Squirrels do not have the mental capacity for any sort of "language" beyond "mating call", "angry call", and "danger call". Most animals don't have developed enough brains to do anything more.

Sure, there are plenty of intelligent animals that may be more intelligent than, say, a Macaw (which speaks), but either don't carry the FOX P2 gene, or don't have a developed linguistic center of the brain. Up until a certain point, speech is relatively irrelevant to how intelligent an animal is.

yeah but you don't see us trying to speak alien but maybe klingon besides the aliens will speak our lagaunge just like the elites did.(but in riddles)

Depends on the series. In Alien, they come to a planet (all the alien movies take place somewhere other than earth) on a spaceship piloted by "the space jockey," a different alien all together. In Alien 3, she brings one to a prison planet, in 4 they are cloned in a space station. In AvP, they are put on earth by Predators for the purpose of hunting.

Anyways, I think it'd be cool to find a planet with life on it at an earlier stage than our own.

OR A PLANET OF DINOSAURS. THAT WOULD BE TIGHT.

Uhh... Wat?

THat seems like a very close-minded hypothesis. There is no telling what sort of communication other intelligent beings have developed, whether it be a pheromone-based communication system, or some other sort of non-verbal method. Also, how would aliens have any clue what our speech is. There really haven't been enough "message in a bottle" radio transmissions to make it feasible that they could learn our language. Our television and radio broadcasts just diffuse into background noise before they even gets to Alpha Centauri.

And another thing: If there there are intelligent extraterrestrials in the galaxy, who's to say if they are even listening for us anyway. They may have evolved a culture that doesn't care for outside contact. It is humanity's curious disposition that makes us yearn for knowledge of others, even if it might not help ourselves.
