But then you'll have to put up with only a selection of jobs the Army chooses FOR you (5 jobs, 2 or 3 must be MOSes that are non-combat support, ie infantry, scout, dark side shit, etc).
And you also don't have an official ETS date (the date you separate from the Army). In order to try and get out you have to submit paper work first to the higher ups and hope it gets approved.
The pay also isn't super duper until you hit that 1LT rank. The highest officer rank you can come in as is Major (but you have to be pretty fucking high speed in education and shit to do that). I only know of medical staff that have achieved that.
Do you support the US Military?
a selection of jobs they choose for you? there's a lot of jobs to do as an officer, and you get your choice of what you want to do as long as you're qualified and get accepted for it. and about separation, not sure about ots but for rotc and academies it's a set time period. and actually the pay's pretty good even as a 2nd lt, plus you'll be a 1 lt in a little over a year. but overall i would say it depends what you wanna do, like i wanna fly so i'm at an academy
and i'm not trying to argue, i'm just trying to clear some things up

Heh, I was wondering where you went.Outrage wrote:(By the way, I'm Requiem)
Anyway, I do fully support our army, now the decisions our government makes with them? That's a little different.
Kirk, I wish you the best of luck in whatever your course is.
I heard the money situation is quite good, as well. I was playing Halo 3, and in the pre game lobby, two guys were laughing their asses off because they're in the army, but they don't really do anything but play Halo 3. And they make a bunch of money as well. They probably have a specific situation other than most recruits(dunno if they were recruits), but they seemed pretty happy about it.

It is expected, and demanded.Tural wrote:MrMurder, we're going to hold you to that promise.
Well, I just got home from drill.
This weekend included:
1. Setting up a Windows Server for my unit to take to Kosovo, along with a wireless LAN and many laptops with the capability to remotely control the server
2. Acquiring TA-50 gear (Ballistic vest, kevlar helmet, rucksack, the whole shebang) and putting it all together
3. (Completely unexpected) Unit promotions. I was promoted to Private First Class today.
As for the two that had a lot of free time... they may have AIT and have internet and a 360 with them, which would explain their mass of free time and 'doing nothing'.

I'm XBC Requiem, in case none of you noticed.
