The Official Rant Thread
^lol, Aardman.
Shadowkhas, I agree with you, most of EA's games mess with alt-tab (command-tab for Mac users) so I either have to ignore who's IM'ing me, or quit whatever I'm doing. Neither of which is preferable. BUT, if you play in windowed mode, alt-tab/command-tab will work. But then (at least for mac) some of the controls on BF1942 will control expose and stuff like that, so I'm like "OMG CRASH, NEED PARACHUTE," I accidently hit F9 instead of 9, so I die.
Annoying.

I rather dislike when people capitalize random words in a sentence.
in b4 someone does it in response to this and I have to quote myself from a year ago:

Say I'm annoyed at something someone has done. I point this out to my friends. One of them proceeds to do whatever I am annoyed by, not realizing that it's not annoying when someone is trying to do it with the intent to annoy right after you say it. It just bothers me that people think it's really funny, when in reality it just makes them look like a babbling idiot.

While somewhat true, I was making a reference that I assumed most wouldn't get, for the purpose of weeding out people.Tural wrote:seeing as how that is virtually irrelevant to the aforementioned rules.

To stop things like what I mentioned from happening, or moreso, stop the flood of newfags.JK-47 wrote:I don't really mind. I'm not a huge fan of that site anyways (it can be funny, yes.) I really don't understand why people actually follow them.Tural wrote:I'm not referring to the relevance to the thread, I'm referring to the content of your response. Saying such a thing makes you look quite bad.
Also, does anyone know the weight of those little tab things used to open soda cans, I have a few hundred in a ziplock bag and want to get it to weigh around 10 pounds.

Heh.Tural wrote:No. Your statement that you "aren't a huge fan of that site" (While poorly worded) explains your lack of insight into the current topic.
The point is, the basis of this topic of discussion was false and with misguided intentions, and therefore I win.
What.
All I know is you cant address 'it', or post anything from 'it'. That's what I've been told, and it make sense with the stuff I've seen on the internet.

Understandably it would take longer to verify, but if you're saying that it took one of the richest companies in the world, that long to verify there was something wrong with their model.. of their next-gen console, that was to be the one that propelled them past their competitors.. :/shadowkhas wrote:I'm pretty sure that's not as obvious as LIVE going down. They'd need to verify that kind of thing under a lot more conditions than this.
In-fact there you have the reasons why it probably did take so long for them to say something..
I noticed. I understand this is the longest lasting problem to date.Tural wrote:Yes. If you've noticed, any time Live has problems like this, they are usually addressed within hours.
How can you say that after only just saying..Tural wrote:The reason for the length before acknowledgment and work on this was due to the holiday time period when it happened.
In which was said..Tural wrote:yes, Major Nelson's site, specifically his quick Twitter updates on the side, will be the best source for current information.

- err...yea. Operations is working hard. That's what I want to say.
The comparison is quite fair.. I would say that the Xbox 360 and Live are pretty closely linked.. And being that they were both developed by and under the Microsoft name, I see no reason why I cannot compare in such terms.. Unless, you are trying to say that you actually know the Live team is considerably better at their job then those who designed the internal architecture of the first 360 model?..Tural wrote:The Live team is always on top of things, and really can't be fairly categorized with the rest of the company in terms of such.
