RIAA [verb] [innocent bystander].

Post by [cc]z@nd! »

well, it appears the RIAA have made yet another dumb decision. apparently, one of the NIN songs on their new cd was intentionally leaked by NIN, and the RIAA is issuing take down requests to sites that have the song available for download. yes, sites that have a download for a song the owner knowingly released.

further proof they don't care about the artists they "defend". only in it for their organization to keep their checkbook from going in the red. it's about time something terrible happens to them.

Haha, that's hilarious. But yes, they are intentionally leaking out songs to get people excited for the album, and I'll tell you, it's working because I'm counting down the seconds until I can get my hands on it.

Fucking RIAA, though, they ruin everything.

how long until you think the music industry just dies from all this RIAA bullshit, or the RIAA just dissipates somehow?

Well I'm not really "educated" on this subject, but that is bullshit what they are doing.

Here is my question. Does the RIAA control all music rights, like if you want to publish somthing, you have to go through them. If so, i hope to see artists not lisence with them(Thats what I would do).

from wikipedia, the RIAA is a trade group to represent the recording industry in america, and is formed of the large recording companies. here's the wikipedia article if you want more: link
oh, and here's a list of RIAA members. what i'm personally doing is, when i buy music, i don't buy any from these labels: link
if you want to publish a recording, what lots of people choose to do is to go indie and do it all themself. they record their songs on a computer, posibly adding effects or touching it up in an audio editor, and then set it up for download on the internet or sell CDs. either that or sign on to a label that isn't part of and won't be a part of the RIAA.
