Well I heard about this along time ago say 2 years? but I heard it was 20 years from then so in my case, it is gonig to hit in 17 years.. But by then.. We will have a plan
-Legendary-`s Though Time:
-It will hit another planet or astroid or something before it gets to us
-Lasers nukes and crap..
-I disbelieve they can predict that.
-Force Field.

Almost is fine with me.
BTW, Halo 1 Xbox > BF2142 and GoW
Also, I'm kinda in "aww" that we think that we don't have the technology. Technology presented to the public is obviously insufficient to do any good. (From what I know) What makes you think the military doesn't have secret weapons... It's 99.99% obvious they do, so I can't just sit here and say that we have the technology. I have a huge feeling (which is of course could/could not be true) that the military has an amazing amount of technology that would throw everyone off guard if they were told.
Or maybe I'm nuts...

I saw this a while ago. I believe they said it would miss Earth but would eventually come back again.

If there is a problem on the forums, message me through IRC, AIM, or through PM.

Take AP Physics, and that opinion will be washed away.-Legendary- wrote:-I disbelieve they can predict that.
First off, it's in "awe" in the way that you're using the word. I'm with you that the military does have advanced technology, but I honestly don't think that they have anything great enough to knock an asteroid off course.DoorM4n wrote:Also, I'm kinda in "aww" that we think that we don't have the technology.[...]What makes you think the military doesn't have secret weapons...

I can't express the joy that comment brings me from knowing someone besides me shares the views that the government isn't 10,000 years more advanced than the public.shadowkhas wrote:I'm with you that the military does have advanced technology, but I honestly don't think that they have anything great enough to knock an asteroid off course.
Yes what a great idea, if we have the technology lets pull the asteroid to us with a tractor beam or even better we can blow it into even smaller asteroids that have a larger area of effectsharpshot2492 wrote:If there is an asteroid, by that time we will have like tractor beams and stuff.Or even if we don't we could just hit it with an ICBM.

Me: U wanna play Matchmaking?

No, it would make them small enough to burn up in the atmosphere.rasillon wrote:well if you blow the asteroid up to small enough sizes the new parts will burn up in the atmosthere i say we get america russia and china to fire everynuke they got at the thing and knock it offcourse a litte.CE_AI wrote:Yes what a great idea, if we have the technology lets pull the asteroid to us with a tractor beam or even better we can blow it into even smaller asteroids that have a larger area of effectsharpshot2492 wrote:If there is an asteroid, by that time we will have like tractor beams and stuff.Or even if we don't we could just hit it with an ICBM.

Your sig can't exceed 500x120 in size.
im in ur galaxy, wreckin' ur homeworldz
This asteroid doesn't bother me. So long as Earth's destruction isn't my fault, I'm chill.
Regarding the Quetzalcoatl thing - if the Aztecs so great, why are they dead? They didn't prophesize getting mauled by Cortez, did they? lawl uncivilized FTL
Yes, I'm an awful person.

I don't really know what to think on this one... But I saw on the history channel or w\e a long time ago, that people are thinking that we can plant a probe on the asteroid that will eat away the asteroid/meteor/bighugeomfgrock into pieces that are not large and fast enough to harm us. 20 years sounds like plenty of time and i'm not worried until it'll be 19 years or so and the asteroid is still heading towards us.. Then i will be a little scared.
