XLink Kai Problem...

Post by Twinbird24 »

[NOTE BEFORE YOU READ: I am using a Windoes XP and a Microsoft Xbox Console]

The problem is simple, I have done everything I could, but when I lanch XLink Kai, it still says "Network Reachable: Not Yet...". Here's the deal:

XLink Kai seems to be working perfectly, it says my Xbox is configured successfully (and it is), all the features are working fine, except I can't see any games on my Xbox, people are telling me my ping is "Establishing..." and Kai report to me my Network is not reachable.

I have a D-Link (DI-524) router that my computer is connected to. My Xbox is also connected to that same router and so is my modem, that's all you need to know. I have tried port forwarding, am I not doing it right? I have XBC and it seems to be working fine. Since I have already port forwarded port 8206 for XBC, I tried typing that in the Kai Config tool in Kai port (leaving Kai deep as 0). Still nothing. I messed aound with it, still nothing. Take a look at how I port forwarded:

ROUTER:

Name: XLink Kai
Private IP: 192.168.0.***
Protocol Type: UDP
Private Port: 30000
Public Port: 30000
Schedule: Always
________________________
Virtual Servers List
|Name|Private IP|Protocal|Schedule
________________________
...
[checkmark]| XBC | 192.168.0.*** | Both | 8602/8602 | always
[checkmark]| XLink Kai | 192.168.0.*** | UDP |30000/30000 | always

All I've been doing was messing around with the router. I've decided to leave my setting as above (the *** represent the last three numbers in my local IP address if you didn't figure it out). Thank you for reading all of this! If you can help, give me some tips or something, please post. Thank You! (take a look at the pictures below)

You should ask this question in the Tech Questions & Problems Forum.

Why are people so worried about hiding their private IPs?

It's private.

Nobody can touch the private IPs unless you plugged directly in the network...

Now on to the question...

Does Xlink use UDP? Maybe just try TCP and UDP or just all.

Also maybe try using a different port with Xlink.

And then check to see if you can ping all the devices.

If you can with you're current setup run your Xbox with XBC, but not Xlink, It's probably some configuration with Xlink. Mess around with the settings and maybe you make it work.

Not fully true.

Anyway I dont get why you ask a complex problem on Halomods and not on the Xlink Kai forums

I did ask on the XLink forums, too.
