Windows Media Player 11

Post by Cuda »

It's been out for a while, but I love it. Even though I do not have the disks for Vista in my hands, I get tidbits off of MS's site little by little.

Windows Media Player 11

*please note, only comment on the player. I don't care if you have some kind of vendetta with Bill Gates or Microsoft, or if iTunes is better, etc. ( i know how you guys like to drift :P

I tried downloading it but I need Service Pack 2. And I refuse to install Service Pack 2 because then I have the stupid Windows Security Center screaming in my face every time I turn on my computer.

See what I mean about drifting off topic?

Cleaned it out.

I have SP2, and it works fine. not that manyt notices, that popup and ruin your stuff.

Another cool feature of Windows Media Player 11 is the added feature of a program called URGE. Windows got together with MTV and created an extensive Music Store/Library thats even better than the MSN one in previous versions.

I have WMP 10 right now, although I never use it anymore because I got iTunes for my iPod. WMP 11 looks pretty cool, but it seriously looks like they're trying to copy iTunes due to its popularity.

Ugh I can't stand iTunes, WMP10 is perfect for me, I tried winamp too but I hated that too, I'll download 11 right now.

I agree. The whole glossy look, is anyone else getting sick and tired of that?

I think what they should have done for WMP 11 is made it have a unique skin.
One that doesn't follow the current gloss trend.

everything is glossy nowadays. but Maca you're right, the WMP11 skin would look pretty cool with a satiny finish or a flat black look with a slight metal sheen.

I can't stand WMP, (or wma or wmv extensions for that matter). It's bulky and unappealing. As is iTunes.
I'll stick with MPC and winamp thank you very much.

That would look better in my opinion, or even still something like this.
My opinion is bias though, I'm sick of the whole gloss/sheen look because I have been using a MacBook for the last few days or so.
