7- Somebody who can populate and build the levels.
8- An uber scripting specialist.

this sounds interesting, i played marathon, its quite fun...
and pretty much the daddy of halo...

Wouldn't it be awesome to play that with some awesome 3-D graphics, new skins, super-cool effects, particles, and better everything? I think so.

i could do some biped models, and do you want the models to look like spartans with security pieces on (halo 3) or do you want then to have the jumpsuits and mark IV helmet?

Unfortunately I can't help with the modeling I'm no 3d artist

I can however help with the particle effects.
I think there should be some people for voice acting. It wont be anything special without dialog.

It is my theory that marathon takes place after halo. Master chief is the main character of marathon.

I think your right, but the armor dissapears, and its a different helmet, and somewhere i heard that the armor is the Mark IV, maybe the armor he was using malfunctioned and broke then maybe he had to downgrade? i dont know, maybe Marathon is Halo 5? because Halo 4 is on that planet, then i guess he gets found by UNSC, then they go to UESC (United earth something something) because i guess earth is the only one left? and another race wants us dead? i dont know anymore... i think the evidence is that: Halo 5=Marathon

No, God, no. Marathon and Halo are not the same. It has been denied by Bungie and you can tell by your own mind that they are not. Several points.

In Halo, the Covenant are the first alien contact. But in Marathon, the Pfhor are the first alien contact. They can't both be. This should be enough to dispel any theories, but I guess not.

In Halo, the humans have reached a certain level of technology. In Marathon, the humans are at approximately the same level of technology, which wouldn't make sense because Marathon is set 300 years after Halo.

Additionally, the humans don't even have some of the technology in Marathon that they did in Halo and vice versa. So no, don't even try to tie the Marathon and Halo universes. There are shout-outs to Marathon, like the marathon symbol showing and the same general idea, but they're just a few shout-outs, and that's it.



Anyways, I can help by giving you the specs of the weapons. PM me or ask in this thread if you need them.

Yes you might be right but I don't think you are.

This is why:

At the end of Halo 3 master chief put's himself in a cryotube. There is no telling how long he stayed in there before being found. Also there is no telling what happened to the human race during the 300 years. A nuclear war could have occurred and sent them back to the stone age. (Just an example) So yes it is possible that Halo's main character(Master Chief) is Marathons main character. Another thought:
If master chief was in the cryotube for 300 years he could have had a great deal of memory loss. (Just a thought)

Bungie has been known to say one thing and a week later say the exact opposite.

My theory's are not based off of the Marathon shout-out's in Halo.

although both games have similarity's,
they do not go hand in hand.

marathon was epic for its time,
it was in a way, a watermark for Bungie.

thats why we see influences of Marathon in Halo.

That fail's so badly, whilst the main character of Marathon may have the name 'John' , there are a great number of incosistencies, like the fact the ship was 'Whole' not ripped in 'half'. On a side note, I can't remember the name of the A.I John has in Marathon to begin with(isn't Durandal), but if it was 300 year's, Cortana would be dead, why you ask? Because Smart A.I's can only live 7 year's before they think themselves to death.

On the side note, no, no and no, Marathon and Halo's only relation is the fact there are several bitmap's throughout each game, that the AR was originally in Marathon, and the main character name's, that's it, nothing else, THEY ARE NOT RELATED IN ANY WAY.

First off I never said anything about Cortana being in marathon. Second there could be many reasons why he was in a ship that was whole and not ripped in half. There is an infinite amount of things that could have happened between John going in the cryotube and the first marathon. You have proven nothing.

Good points but anything you say could easily be attached to a reason why.

this is CE right? that means i don't HAVE to remodel, right? so i can (technically) make a model with like 32452345 verts, right? sweet, this makes things a WHOLE lot easier.

Haha, I was in that topic on Bungie! I think it would be an awesome idea. Not particularly skilled, but I do have a simple (but accurate) model of the WSTE-M which I'm willing to give away.
