Halo -> Doom Conversion - Has anyone even LOOKED here?

Have an idea for a project, but need to assemble a team? Here is the place to do it.

Ok, so let's start with the basics:
I am starting a project to do in my spare time that will take Halo (the first one) and turn it into a doom WAD (the ID equivalent of a map).
The final product will consist of every Halo 1 Single Player map, along with:
Covenant
Weapons
Textures

What I need is:
1. Bitmap versions of various WALL and FLOOR textures from halo (most of which I have, just as TIFs)
2. Multiple angles of varius covenant (Grunts, jackels, elites)
3. Varius vews of weapons (First Person, including shooting and reloading)
4. a single view of various scenery objects (trees, those covi storage things, etc)

This is not as big a task as it may sound, especially with the Doom Builder.
Also, in a way, this will bring the full Halo experience to those who don't have Halo, those with iPods [indeed], those with computers that don't support Halo [sux for joo], and those who just enjoy the old-school shoot-'em-up action of Doom.

This will pretty much be Doom 2, with weapons including:
Halo - Doom
Pistol - Pistol
Shotgun - Shotgun
Assault Rifle - Chain Gun
Plasma Rifle - Plasma Rifle
Rocket Launcher - Rocket Launcher
Plasma Pistol - BFG (yes, the worst gun will be the best gun XD, don't worry, stats will be modified)
and last but not least:
Needler - Chainsaw (no sword, you couldn't use it in halo 1 and want all the weapons you could use)
Sorry, no 'nades.


Help that I need:
Besides the above listed images, I need people with a doom player (I use Doom Legacy, which is free, googlet) and any one with the Doom Builder (googlet, too)
All of this is free, and I can freely distribute a custom WAD file.
So, help me out if you can.

Well, I'm off to see what I have already (guns in first person and all that) and I'm gonna be making the first level without textures.

(#) Doom Builder
(#) Doom Legacy
*Note: You can use any other doom player as long as it supports custom wads with custom textures and such.

Heh, it does look good. Just try and reverse it and make the monster from doom in Halo... that would be interesting.

I must say, that's pretty damn cool. Especially in combination with a version of the Doom engine ported to a mobile platform. Halo Palm OS!

yeah that would be interesting. hard, tho, someone could do it in an sp map for ce. (i cant i have absolutely no experience w/ hek.)

Well, with the new tutorial on how to extract stuff from N64 games, just do that for Doom64...

Doom is not models its 2d its just the projection of it.

yeah, its made completely out of sprites, and in a some-what 3d environment (kind of like that old brick wall maze screensaver for windows)

that looks sweet! just one question, I've modded my ipod using ipod linux to play doom on it, of I take the .wad and switch it with the one on the ipod, would it work? That would be awsome, halo on th3 ipod!

I made a halo > doom conversion years ago. They released a Doom game-maker engine, I took it and molded it to my benefit. I eventually dropped the project and turned it into a mech game due to lack of graphics resources. It was pretty cool though, a few more particle systems, sprites, and tweaked coding and I would've been set. I almost had custom injected 3d models. Those were the days. <_< Now I'm just old and washed up.
