Yea I have a new idea for a map but it's going to need a bit of time considering my un-expertise,

I'm not going to be able to make it 'perfect' nor tell all the details
but basically I need to find a way to Make sounds, quieter?
Without the need of replacing them with new custom sounds.
Also Are there any still-effective tutorials for nightvision on any weapon?
If so, a link would be great

Thanks,

skrillaka

*Edit* are there any previous 'stealth' kind of maps made I would love to get inspiration from them.

Check out my mod Lab Raiders. It uses Monkey Terd's method, but the lights are configured differently for FP and 3P.

DemonicSandwich made a nice tut for how to get a trigger-activated flashlight here.

You could also use short-duration active camo, either by using the equipment or the jpt method.

As for making sounds quieter, there is a codec here on Halomods, I think in the PC downloads, that lets you open H2 sounds in Windows Sound Recorder. That has a function to make sounds quieter. Then you would just internalize, extract, reduce volume, and reinject them. Easy.

It would be cool to have a shotgun that sounds like the one in No Country for Old Men.

Where does he worrrrrk?

yeah, you're going to need the Xbox ADPCM codec for the sounds, and Halo 2 Sound Tools.

-extract the sounds with H2ST
-open them in windows sound recorder (accessories->entertainment)
-decrease volume (effects menu) probably do it twice (50%)
-save and inject
-repeat.

that's going to be the only way other than... turning your tv down.

Try converting to a different format, such as PCM .wav, then try to lower the volume, then convert back to the original format.

I'll play around with the volume idea.
I was just thinking possibly swapping sounds inside the map itself
But because i'm very tired I can't think which sound i'd prefer
Something like the sound of someone.. creeping. you know?
hopefully I can do something about that.

I'm thinking either headlong or relic/dune will be a good map to test this out on
I'm heading more towards relic seeming as it's rarely touched on.
correct me if i'm wrong :)

*updates* i'm using Dune/Relic or watever its called, The beach one
I've changed lightmaps to dark
Edited 4 weapons, the single warthog and added a few Even more futristic themes to the situation.
I plan to edit all of the weapons making them evenly powerful in their own ways, but not too overpowering
And also edit the ghost on the map also.
The process is going great so far

thanks

Update:
I've put in a flashlight for the assault rifle, It's permanent so you can't flick it on and off. =/
The speeds have changed, Elites edits aren't going so well.

I'll release a .txt soon of the new features in my map.

Alos wondering if it's possible to trigger the overcharge effect when mounting a weapon?
or even picking one up and weilding it?
thanks
