where to put map and skins downloads

Hi i have currently downloaded many new skins and maps and weapon mods.
I was wondering if i first extract the files and then if where i place them.
Do i put the files onto the map in dothalo?
Can anyone tell me where i put the mods? thanks

It depends on what you downloaded. If the file has a .sppf extension, then you need a program called Super PPF to patch the map. (A patch is simply a file containing the differences between a clean map and a modded map. When you feed the patching program your patch and clean map, the clean map becomes the modded map.) For SPPF files, you need to know the clean map that was used. It will be indicated in the post you downloaded from.
If the file ends with .serenity, then you need a program called Serenity to apply the patch. Serenity knows the name of the expected base map, so you don't have to worry about that.
If the file ends with .ppf, then it's a pretty old mod that probably isn't very good by today's standards, but it may be worth a shot. You can open the patch in Dothalo and apply it there.
If the file is a .zip, then you need to unzip it first, then see what kind of file it is. WinZip is a free zip program you can use for that.
Check the utilities section for all of the patching programs. You can find them in the modding startbar, probably your best bet if you'd like to get into modding or just apply patches.

sorry for my crappy grammar and thanks a lot for that but if its a zip file, can i click "extract" and extract it to a folder then change it to the right format to dothalo?

none of the things you sent me are working...i downloaded them and when i click on them they say windows cannot find the server where its originally from

Really, there's no point in telling us not to help him...
Just use serenity until you can figure out another way to use SPPF.
