Skinning issue

Post by Kewlkyle64 »

I want to learn how to skin, so I decided just to start with the ghost. I did some obviously noticeable changes (just to see if I could do it right) and injected it. Here's what I did:

But when I played it, the ghost looked exactly the same as normal. I didn't use Bitmap Internalizer, if that has anything to do with it. (How do you tell if a bitmap is internalized, anyways?)

I also looked in Entity again, and my skin shows.

I'm using Entity 1.3.9, Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 (with plug-in), and this tutorial.

And also, could someone just basically explain to me how to save my skins, and how to do it right?

Thanks guys.

you need to open the bitmap internalizer from all in one and open your map and you find the ghost and click the drop down box and hit 1 and then use the nonproper way and it internalize and it should have a sorta loading bar at the bottom and then you can inject it but i recomend useing dothalo to inject

i cant believe u just said that. dothalo injects wrong (no offense farklem :P). entity does it 100% correctly.

and u need to internalize the bitmap before injecting. use this internalizer

as for saving them correctly, save the as the same DDS type as it says in entity. then inject. but because u didnt internalize it b4 injecting, that skin is now in all ur maps =x

Hmmm... I use dothalo for my bitmap injection almost exclusively. I have yet to find something better. I'd like to know what you mean by "dothalo injects wrong."

I highly recommend dothalo for skinners.

But what do I know?

EDIT: Also, I wouldn't touch any internalizer other than THIS ONE.

Perhaps in the distant past..

Only with normal maps. Apart from that the inject process is exactly the same.

Correct.. Internalise and then edit...

Prophet's injector is actually better.. the best so far in fact...

The one NotZachary linked to is also just as good.. Prophet as well...

So, true.
Although, I use DotHalo as well.
I was actually considering using Prophet here lately, though.
I don't have my modded xbox hooked up, however.

Well I was looking through Entity's .ZIP file, and I found a skin app for Entity (in 1.3.9). Should I be using that?

not even a bit? ive noticed some differences when injecting. it was just a past experience. dothalo injected it and it was all scratchy, while entity's was poiyfect.

either my dothalo sucks or is an earlier version ...

i thought that was just for entity skins, not bitmap skins ...

No, that is just to change how entity's visual colors are presented to you.
And I find that prophet is the best skinning application if your pc will run it. It makes skinning life much easier

Still torrents quite well, and I can stream the videos to my 360... now all I gotta do is get that optical cord I've been looking for and I can hook it up to my 5.1 surround sound system in my room and yeah watch movies in style LOL
