I know nothing about skinning all the tuts get very involved quite quickly, prophet however makes skinning easy peasy,
here is my question I have a box room with 4 walls each wall has the same (its it shader?) pattern can I make them look different from each other or am I stuck with all 4 walls looking the same?

In almost every case you are stuck with it.

The ONLY thing I can think of you doing is spawning a large machine in front of the wall you want to make different (or all walls if that be the case) and skin them to look the way you want them to. As long as you can't tell it's a machine, it'll look just like a wall.

TCMC yep thats one way I had figured,
Mr jackson in my highly simplified example yes you would be stuck for the most part but before I had a reply I thought "well if anywhere it would be the Bsp tag" and I noticed that most shaders have multiple entries (near the bottom of the tag) so I went swap crazy now multi surfaced parts of the bsp that where just one shader thru out now look like a multi shader mess
the map I have has a few ramps in it I pointed a couple of the shaders that correspond to those ramps to something else and now some ramps look like they should and others have changed, at the moment I haven't check in game I'm just looking thru prophet
Is this common knowledge, or do I get a cookie?

*checked in game there are roof struts left and right all the ones on the right look different to the ones on the left were before they were identical*

it leaves me wondering surely this was common knowledge but then if it was why does preys app change everything with the same shader?

this is common knowledge but I think I deserve something perhaps not a cookie but perhapsImage
