Alpha_station

Ok first off (THIS IS A BETA).

Alpha station is a space map of foundation.
Just a simple mod, but fun.

Im really just looking for feed back.
ill get pics when i can.

You spawn on top of the map, theres to small bases across the map from each other.
Two warthogs spawn at each base.
Each base is a made from blocks, not mach's.
This way they could be damaged from vehi crashs, rockets and well placed grenades.
The bases are stacked blocks making three walls for cover.
The blocks are spaced so you can shoot between each one.
Grav lifts have been added to map where rocket spawns.

Sorry bout that, I uploaded the wrong patch any way.

Ive already got two updates to this map, and its almost finished.

UPDATE: Fixed shader bugs i was having, New textures, New shaders, Plasma doors at openings to rooms... Thats right, no more blind lucky nades killing you just inside door.

ive never posted pics befor, infact this is my first mod ever posted.

UPDATE: Actually nades will kill you, thru plasma door. Its my version of the halo3 door shield. Thanx to one of the nifty tutorials on this site :)

looks goo i would suggest maing a bridge over the middle would be better for the worthogs.

I like the shield things. And yes a bridge would definitely be good to this. So far I am liking it, maybe add some scenery at the top area since it looks so plain.

Here is a question just by looking at this.....

Will this map even have invisible walls? bc it looks like its playable on top of map and in map :?

There are no invisible walls in the map except at the very end of the geometry.

If you're looking for feedback...

I'd say get rid of the two warthogs, or else if it's 4v4, it may become just which team can kill the other two warthogs first. I'd personally replace one warthog from each base with an H3 Mongoose.

If all the gametypes are fixed, and there is a bridge connecting the two bases, then this could turn out to be a great map.

Its funny you mention the bridge, origanaly i put control_walkway off an s.p. map across for warthag crossing and filled the map with water, but my death zones wouldnt work :cry:

So i went in another direction.

The brown things are lifts, with shadar swap for water. the air lifts are gone.

The invisible walls are gone. Tent removed due to collision problems.

I added some bridges, but the shaders dissapear and reapear when running around the map. So now there gone too.
did som shadar swaping an added two more shields.

All weapons skinned
BSP scenery moved
Removed the actic scenery, it was to distracting.
tent now have collision.
If you want the bridges, go to mach pallet, select bridge swap identity with control_walkway.

move them in bsp viewer,sign,fpt, the cuss out entity for having messed up pitch, and ya. :lol:

The new patch is in the d/l section.

CREDITS: All of you guys for making apps, writing tutorials and putten up with nubs like me.

PS. If anyone knows how to move and relink the collision marker for bsp scenery please pass it on. :wink:
