BSP converting shared map

I have an idea but it is a HUGE project using the shared map for a BSP conversion then building structures out of various blocks, crates, pallets you get the idea but it is so labor intensive placing the objects with my cruddy grafix card and when I think I have it right I jump on the structure and it either falls to bits or some bit disappears and then falls to bits, any ideas where/how I'm cocking this up?

My other Idea is similar but a little cheap, use the shared (or SP shared I cant remember which 1 I used) and placing blocks directly on top of each other (not stacked but in the exact same space) and when the block is touched all the blocks fly out all over the place at random that way you will have a unique gaming environment every game

Has anyone already done this and how does it stand as an idea

Use machs to build your structures.
They won't break up.

hmm mach's unknown territory to me and my pc is kind of crappy so it dies when I try to view bsps of campagin maps to see what each mach looks like
Any advice as to which map I should look at for randomly exporting machs out of

Your idea to achieve a unique playing environment is interesting, but there is an easier way.

Rig a grenade to chain spawn several different blocs (crates, boulders, anything you like). Then, use the netgame equipment to spawn your rigged grenades. That way, when your map loads, the grenades will appear on the map, detonate, and release their blocs in various directions. I believe you can set the velocity cone angle and min/max radius of each chain-spawned bloc in the effect tag for the grenade detonation. Also make the force of the grenade explosion high to blast the blocs far enough from each other.

It's a clever idea.

BTW, I know you asked about it awhile back, but I got proximity mines working.

You need to change a value to keep it from moving im not sure which exactly but I think thats how you get it from falling.

I'm glad you think the idea could work captain I've seen your posts/mods and I can see you are serious about making the game better
heres the basis of the project:
The covenant have captured 100's of master chiefs and want to learn MC's fighting capability's so they make the "Cube of Death"
the map needs 2 defendable bases which will be mach built
it also will have the random bloc disperser system in the middle along with waterfalls and a pool of water (coloured red like blood)
I'll add little touches like dead MC's spawning above the pool of blood, spawn grenades (and a skull) on MC when his shield is depleted, add the PP bomb planter all the things I like as mods that are fair to all
this arena will be for MC's only and players who use the elite will be invisible spectators like they are for MLG's games
As for a skin it wants to be blood blood blood, help me written on the walls in blood, bloody palm prints if anyone has Ideas that might suit the premise of this mod please submit them
