h2c errors -_-

okay im trying to add water without using detox's tool since everytime i use his tool on lockout it makes the water into distorted glass not water, but when i try to open a clean lockout into h2c to decompile it so i can add water it gives me and error like invalid halo.map file or w/e it just doesn't want to open it any ideas on why this is happening and its for every one of my maps not just lockout, and if you can't help me with h2c could u tell me whey detox's tool is hating my lockout so much? it works with other maps because im working on two mods and my coag had water added just fine.
