Multiplying Plasma Grenades Problem

Hey
I know that this is probably really easy for most of you, but I just started to mod again and this is something that I would like to do. I also remember that a tutorial was made for this a long time ago, but couldn't find it when I made a search.
I have a general idea of how it was done, but I don't remember which dependencies to switch. I am pretty sure that they took the explosion of the plasma grenade and made it into the three garbage pieces of the covenant battery. They then turned the three pieces of garbage into three plasma grenades.
Sorry if my explanation wasn't that great and any help would be appreciated.
