im working on a mod and i was wondering how to add a new contrail that looks like an electric bolt or sumtin

You could use a contrail editor and make the contrail an extremely light blue.

You might be ably to swap effects, but it might not work. What weapon are you doing this for, or I mean projectile.

well You will have to edit the prt3s of the proj. If you are indeed using the rocket proj, I recommend editing the exhaust effects. That would be the easiest.

I would change all of the prt3s to ghost/electric_discharge_large. That would work quite well IMO.

If you need me to go into detail, I can :wink:.

Only plasma type guns have that I believe so go for the exhaust effects like smokey said.

should i null out the pmov though because it is a warm smoke cloud or would that mess my game up

It wouldn't mess it up at all. It just changes the physics of the exhaust smoke. It really doesn't make a HUGE difference, but it won't hurt to mess around with it.
