Can't get mods to work right

I'm trying to get the turret off the warthog for containment. After I take the turret off, and transfer all the data to the xbox, I load the containment map, and the turret is still there.

Here's what I'm doing step by step.

1. Open dothalo
2. Going to vehi tag
3. Selecting the warthog chaingun and going to dependencies
4. Changing them all to null
5. Save tag changes
6. Fix encryption
7. Resign the map
8. Open FlashFXP
9. Connect to my xbox
10. Transfer files

That's my exact steps, what am I doing wrong?

Well do you have the gauss warthog spawned? If so, then the gauss turret would still be there, because the chaingun turret isn't spawned.

So you are going the [vehi] tag then choosing the warthog chaingun then nulling out the [hlmt] and [weap] tags in the dependencies of the tag? If so make sure that you are overwriting the files correctly. Don't use CMR that is not allowed to be discussed here. Just add it to your mainmenu.map. :wink:

Well I switched them, it still didn't work.

Go to the vehi tag, then the guass gun, and null it from there. See if that works.

(Spawn a guass hog though)

It is actually in the [mode] tag, if I remember correctly :wink:.

Find the chaingun turret in there, and null 'em out.

At the very least, it should make it invisible.

Ah, ok. I'll give it a try later. It's still weird that the vehi tag one didn't make any changes. Honestly, I think I'm doing something wrong in the transfer step. I messed around with the weapons aswell and nothing changed.

I thought it was the hltm tag. Just go there and try to null everything out.

i don't think it has anyhting to do with the tag.

I tried a simple weapon mod and it didn't work either. It has worked in the past, then all of a sudden it stops.

I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.

There are two proper methods I can think of to remove the warthog turret...

Method 1:
Open the [vehc] tag list, select warthog_gauss, open the meta editor.
You should see a String ID labeled "permutation"
Click in that string id box and type troop, click the arrow to thr right of the box and select troop again from the drop down plain.
Hit save, sign, and send it to da box.

Method 2:
Open the [hlmt] tag list and select objects\vehicles\warthog\warthog
Now Right click > Indents
Scroll down the Indent list till you find the gauss turret [vehi] indent and null that out. (The gauss turret indent is about half-way down the list)
After that indent is nulled, sign it and send it over.

I remember while using dotHalo, I tried to make the turret shoot out frags. Instead I 'somehow' accidentally nulled out the turret with the grenades.
I got the same thing as above.

Thanks Demonic! Is that Entity you're using? I use dotHalo but I need to get Entity. Hmm, where to find it!

I'll give that a try.

I will probably have the same problem though. Not with taking the turret off, but with getting the mod to actually work after I transfer it to my xbox. I've tried 3 times now and no luck.

What program do you use to sign the map? I use one that's not supposed to be discussed here (which I didn't know) so if you can tell me what you use, I'll switch. ^_^
