See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Is this something wrong with the map, or is it my computer? I can't figure it out. I've tried the BSP viewer with multiple versions of Entity. =(

It also does this with a clean, unmodded map. WTF???

Um I dont really know what that means for sure, but it could mean that the d3d.dll is not in your folder, or it might mean that d3d can't getCaps() on the device, I'm thinking this means it can't get the capabilities of your graphics card, if that's the case, you might want to download the source for entity and hardcode it into the code or something if you know what you're doing. I could be way off, I'm just guessing as to what it could be because I can't be too sure without more information.

Ya, I don't think thats right. Entity used to work fine with my gfx before I upgraded.

Yeah maybe your graphics card isn't compatible.

Try using another version of entity I used to get errors in bsp viewer so I used entity 1.3 and it worked fine.

Nope. Any version of entity I try gives me the same crap.

Ok first off, don't post the whole error message, this will suffice thank you:

Code: Select all

DirectX couldn't get your device capabilities, therefore you either do not have a device (graphics card >_>) or you don't have the latest directX runtime installed (shouldn't matter if you've got the dll's in the same folder) or more likely, your useable device is not first in line in your long list(?) of devices.. normally that wouldn't matter, but it's jus' pokes an ol' n00b and didn't bother to check which is your active dev, he jus uses 0! corr blimey eh?
