I really want to get back into skinning

Way back when, I used a program called 'Convim' (I believe that's what it was called), which could easily convert .dds textures into common image formats. If anybody could post a link or PM it to me, I would be very grateful. And nobody make a post telling me to "just get photoshop and teh .dds pulgin lol1!!"

Sorry, I totally forgot about googling it. I figured that it was just something that was on halomods, and couldn't be found via google.

Ok, now I'm getting an error with Chr2, and it's really making me want to bash my computer into little pieces.
It tells me that the imported texture must be in dxt1 format, I finally got it imported as DXT1, but it looks like a frickin' corrupted bitmap in-game. What do I need to do...

you could always use entity to skin instead of ch2r

If you use Entity you have to be Very Very careful. You can only inject bumps with UE--others will probably corrupt Bitmaps and even you map. Lots of other little annoyances as well... Oh well its still da' bomb!

when i used 2 make skins i used dothalo and never had a problem
