killtrocity map problems

I am just starting out and am simply trying to get some premade maps on to my xbox.

I have the killtrocity maps downloaded, and they are in ISO form. The instructions say "ftp to your xbox, or burn to disc and put on your xbox"

They don't say where to put on your xbox or if they need to be in a form other than .iso. I assumed that I would put them in the maps folder on my Halo 2 that is backed up to my hdd but I thought them being in .iso form seemed like it would not work and of course it did not.

Do I have to extract the maps from the iso before FTPing them to my xbox and should I drop them in the already existing map folder in Halo 2, and if so what program should I use to extract them?

Do I need to worry about any of the files/maps that are already there (such as the fonts) being overwritten or lost when I put the new killtrocity maps in?

I have tried to find a n00b friendly step by step tutorial on installing the killtrocity maps but have had no luck. If any of you would not mind taking the time to help me figure out how to get these maps in there and working it would be greatly appriciated.

Yes. If you have the disc in .ISO form, you need to extract EVERYTHING from the .iso and then FTP to your Xbox. Don't plan on keeping both Halo 2 and Killtrocity on your hard drive, unless it is an upgraded drive. Just delete the maps folder on your Xbox now, and replace it with the one from the disc. Also, replace the default.xbe. Is there a reason why you can't burn to a DVD? BTW: Here is the layout of the disc

Halo2/Killtrocity 1;2
-media
-maps
--fonts
--all .map files
default.xbe

I burnt it to a disk and it works fine now. I am not sure why putting on the upgraded hdd was not working but I will save the space and just keep it on a seperate DVD. thanks for the help though.

One more question. The maps look like ass compared to the original maps on halo. Lots of jaggies and just a generally bad look. Are they supposed to look like that or is there something I should mess with for a better picture. Halo 2 looks crisp and clean on my HD tv even though I have my modded box going through Svid cables but the killtrocity disk looks pretty bad comparitivly speaking.

The reason you couldn't put it on the hard drive was because it is an .iso, vwhich is a mirror image of a disc. The Xbox cannot emulate a cd/dvd drive to run the .iso.
As for the picture, it's the same game, so it should look no different than regular Halo 2.
