Hello,

I have seen on the pictures section this:

So i was wondering if there was still there the string texte of the ping but disabled...

I didn't find exactly that because this picture is from a beta, but i found another thing :P

Qos= Quality of Service (used for voice over IP)

It seems that those stats are not for Syslink but for xbox live.

So what i have tried it replace a texte string showed ingame by this string, but nothing, what i see are squares :/

And on the profile name too but i have got that []

Maybe someone like xbox7887 can do something? :D
Because it involves on the xbe for ping i think...

It would be cool to be able to see the ping ingame xD

Just wondering if it was possible :arrow:

omg this would be soooooo awesome if it worked. ill def help u wit this. ima hex edit a profile name and play variables in game.


edit: where did u find that? i hexed the default.xbe and found nothing

I found that on the halo 2 mapfile with a hex editor, it's a string wich you can find with entity 1.4 on the matg tag with the string editor.

Sorry for the confusion, i mean, that the variables (EE90 ..) has something to do with the xbe, maybe

Or just maybe xbox7887 could enable the ping "bars" like on xbox live for syslink

yea i found 2575 as a potential in the .xbe but i cant find a xbox save resigner (sav3r wont work here) to test it out

EDIT: i can use sav3er (open up the "codes.ini" and add uve value at the end), but that value does nothing (square)

A hex editor isn't going to help you much unfortunately :?

yea i realized that. regardless of wat was on the beta, now all we have for ping and stuff is a lil bar next to ur name on xbl. if it actually had text or it showed a number then we can do it with hex but other than that no. i did discover that the pregame lobby is the same for sys link, split screen, and mb xbl(cant find out lol). xbox7887 do u know/ are u willing to look into displayin the ping on system link (its prob a no with yelo and w/e else ur doin lol)

1. Thats a beta
2. Betas are for debugging
3. Thats debug information
4. Most of people only have the Halo2 released in stores a long long time ago, which was retail
5. Retail includes no debug information like what you see in that photo.
6. That was a beta

i tested all the 90** variables that were there and none of them work. i think its got to be a variable but we just need to find it. if we can find the names displaying ingame on the score board then we might have something. im not guna wuit on this lol. also i want to find out the variables for headshot and hit % and maybe be able to show them in game.

2. That percentage is calculated on the fly at the postgame report
3. The information is built at the postgame report so you won't be able to show those scores midgame.
4. String ids aren't used for displaying the stats info, your wasting your time

You could always add your own ping calculating code :? Most if not all of the network packet stuff gets read into some of the last few segments allocated by the game...

Or we could make a trainer wich make the game ping every 5 seconds.

And kornman00 stop please.

A lot of people said that we could never convert bigger sbsp, and now what?

Xbox7887 do you have a nice debbuging tutorial with IDA?

or we can have it so that it will show the ping of each player when u view the stats in-game like xbl. And im assuming that i need to go a step further than hex for this. C++? Microsoft Visual Basic?

Why stop when I can go faster?!?!?!

1. Alot of people (especially here) talk out of their ass
2. I rarely do, unless I have gas. I don't remember having gas in either of those posts *phew*
3. You can't debug your xbox with IDA, you need the XDK and the 2003 edition of VS.

A "trainer" that pings every five seconds would be pointless. The game already shows your overall connection strength :/

Just a though could the xbox live's score board have a different variation than system link and split screen maybe it has a permalition like bipeds or is the ping rate connected to the gamertag or just that xbox in general im not sure but does it show your a guests connection status over xbox live.!?

The same scoreboard is used no matter the layer of MP simulation. Your guest would have a connection status just because of how they would deal with the code, calculating it for every player ignoring special case facts like same-box players
