Freezes in Main Menu

Whenever I load up Halo 2 (with or without disc) and press start in the main menu, it freezes. I tried removing the auto update (1.1), but it did not work. Help Appreciated soon.

Go to X:\, Y:\, and Z:\ partitions, and delete all the files in them.
Then go to E:\CACHE\ and delete all the files in this directory.
Then try to load Halo 2.
