Now Im Mad
I just finished installing the killtrocity version 2 map pack on three of my friends X-boxs. Guess what. My 360 ethernet cord dosen't work for x-box to x-box connection, but it does work for x-box 360 to x-box connection. Is their a way to get it to work.

To get more specifig then -DeToX-, you want a Cat5 or Cat5e straight-through cable if you are using a router. I'd look at your school and talk to the network admin. I know that at the school I went to before the admin would make cables for 10cents a foot. Can't beat that price. Now, if you want to connect two Xboxes together, you need a Cat5 or Cat5e crossover cable.
The reason that the 360 will work with the cable (which is a straight-through) is because it has what's called a "smart NIC", which is a network card that can use any kind of cable for any kind of connection, because it tries different signals until it gets one that works.

To tell the difference between a normal cable(RJ-45) and a crossover cable. Get both heads(the two ends) and if the colours on it are in the exact same order its an RJ-45. If the colours are different or swapped araound abit its a crossover cable.
Could I get someone to tell me if this is right seeing as though I just heard it from somewhere. Thx.

A cross over cable will connect 2 xbox's directly.
but if you are connecting more than 2 use a router, or a Ethernet hub. and get Cat5 cables and link them from the xbox's to the router or Hub. this will also work for connecting 2 xbox's directly
