Warthog Races

Okay, I came up with this idea last night. To start out simply, modders can tweak there warthogs for more power, speed, traction, drift, etc., then go and race them with others modded warthogs. Everyone knows the variants Hog Heaven or Destruction Derby, well, they're unrealistic. So make them, by modding your own warthog, so that, in game play, everyones warthog is different. Soon, after this gets started, I'll make a new map of just a long stretch of road, with two warthogs at one end. Both players spawn behind them. Another player stands in between the two with a plasma pistol charged. When it is released, the race starts. Now here is the fun part, the finish line is actually a death barrier, so you have to have suicide point loss on. So that the score keeper (third player) can keep track of who won so many times, and who lost. But see, that sort of presents a problem, what if the score keep wasn't paying attention at the time, and one player went past the death barrier and the other went right after him? So I came up with another idea. At the finish line is a single Rocket Launcher, with a single rocket. Who ever gets to the finish line first, gets the rocket launcher and blows the other one to hell... simple as that. lol. But this is just a 'beta' idea, I guess you can say. There is more too everything, but once I get is started, I'll post again.

ive been trying on and off for over a year to do something similar to this, its easier said than done and im yet to find how to speed up the hog

well if they max it out it might not be drivable through the course, also sp maps would be great for this

That's easy. I've been modding warthogs for street, hills, rock climbing, all kinds of stuff. I'll post a tutorial soon about modding your warthog.

as latinomodder said, they won't be drivable through the course. I've had many experiences teaching myself how to trick these things out. There has been plenty of times that I've said, "well, lets just make this number really high and see what it does!" Loaded the map and got in a warthog, as soon as I pressed on the gas, the entire thing went flying into the air and blew up. So there is alot to know and understand while editing things. You have to balance everything out. A few of mine are raised twice there height, but I had to increase the traction and and weight becuase a different rule comes into play. Trust me, theres alot to this. Oh, and some people are not as talented at modding the warthogs. Just like real life, some people don't know how to make their car go faster, while others do. Oh, and if you are part of the team that made the Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift mods, I really would of lowered them and increased the drift. And YES, it is possible, I've done it plenty of times.

And yes, later on I plan on making an entire mappack with race maps that you can inject your warthogs meta info in. But right now, I'm just going to leave it simple and race on normal MP maps.

Ill provide you an sp map I thought would be great for races, also you should make a moving hill, that moves every like second then when pass by the last one you win.

In the Tokyo version of the Fast and Furious mods, the Warthogs were lowered... and they're handling or "drift" was adjusted as necessary. Please don't tell me what is and isn't possible with Warthogs...

well obvisouly your saying that everyone knows how to mod warthogs and adjust each setting to even things out. So I just figured that you had no idea what you were talking about. So all we had was a miss understanding. no reason to act like a badass.

i know how to speed up the hog but the more speedthe less handiling just increase the top speed but not to high or your hog will flip everywhere

it dose work trust me you need to increase it barely to yur liking do little by little it works i mad a cool hog recently but didnt release it it was skinned neons rims hydros and nitrous and speed increase andit dose work

Pointless - people could up the acceleration, deceleration, speed, handling, etc. Everyone would have a warthog that went 100 ft in 1 second, and could stop on a dime.

Heck, a few people would probably have flying warthogs with completely different control, similar to a lightspeed-pelican.

i like this idea. i have been trying to mod warthogs for a few days, removing the gun etc. and i think it would be good to have a map like that, and a few how-to's.

make it 4 (or 8) team ctf, have all the flag spawns near the warthog, allow yourself to drive the warthog even with the flag, drive through the course to the otherside where you place your flag and then win...

So you'd have 4 (or 8) people racing at once with their flags and thats the way youd properly determine who comes first 2nd 3rd etc

rather than make it a straight drag race make a race track but dont have jumps, go for for something more like sakelectric (wrong spelling) with slanted corners and over/under passes

do that and i'll download it

Okay. I've already responded to a post like this. Its easier said then done. And there would be rules, i.e. "No flying". And the whole 100 ft in 1 sec, and stop on a dime shit... that is really hard. If you have it set like that, one little bump could flip the entire warthog. Its happened.

supermodder911 - you have the right idea.

xzodia - as soon as i get my computer working again (in a few days), I'll post the patch for it, and then you can judge that your self. Oh, and don't say, "^^^that doesnt work, i tried ", just becuase you tried and failed doesn't mean others will.

Now this is all going to work, just like it would with real street racers. Others warthogs will be much better then others, on the street. But when actual competitions are held. There will be set rules on things. Moderators will ride with each racer making sure he or she is not cheating. Yes people will probably race with boost (NoS, in reality), but during comps, they will only be allowed to race others will boost as well. And they both have to have the same amount. Players will be set into different catagories, etc. It will all be organized. xzodia, it wont only be drag races, at first maybe, but soon afterwards, there will be race tracks like that. And if you have any modding experience with collision editing, etc. Then I will be more then happy to have you on this team im going to compile for "Warthog Races."

thank you ive edited a few warthogs none public but i will start a new one or use my old one and is there a limit on how fast they can go and mine has nitro thanks to turk so if i get tofar all i have to do is hold r

also right that if we each enter with our mod maps as a non host our speed changes still work for us?
