Multiple Shaders on one model?

Post by DarkMetal »

I was looking at some of the levels I've made for CE in the past, and how they use a multi/subobject material, which is a material that holds sub materials for those of you who don't know. I opened a Halo 2 map in entity to check the shader stuff in a mode tag (using the fp_smg model as an example) and sure enough, there is more than one shader referenced in the model. With that in mind, I was thinking that if you can design a multi/subobject for the model, inject it, then make the shaders, you might be able to have more than one shader on a model... I'm not sure though. What's you guys' thoughts on this?

(if there's any spelling errors or confusion, I'm sorry... I'm quite sleepy)

It is very possible to have two shaders to one model. I made a hunter cannon not to long ago and it had two shaders, one for the gun and one for the glow. Also the Assault Rifle I think has 3 or 4 shaders.
