Modeling & Skinning

Can someone please give me a tutorial to Modeling id like to do that.
And with skinning do people use paintbrushes to skin? Im just curious because im gonna make a new mod (Gonna try make a good one this time) and i wanna know if this is the way people skin. Thanks guys
