I can load everything that's supposed tio be in the cache from ym copy of halo 2 on my HD, but when I try to load anything from my disc, it doesn't work. Wtf? :(

EDIT: Also, when I clear my X:\ cache, there's only 486MB of free space.

Could you be a little more specific. You say it doesn't work... As in maps fail to load...game in general doesn't load. Textures are messed up...Black screen?

Okay, if I try to load any SP maps from my disc, it gives me a dirty disc error.

If I try to load any SP maps from my HD copy, it gives me the dirty disc error.

All MP maps seems to load fine now.

My X:\ cache only has 486MB free space after clearing when it normally has 749MB free space.

The disc loads fine on my stock HD that I use for Xbox Live and stuff.

I had this problem once. Then I had another where modded textures were on my disc.
Just FTP a clean shared, single player shared and mainmenu to your HDD.
That fixed mine.

You can also check the cache using avalaunch's built in file explorer.

I tried this, and it still won;t load any SP maps. When I check my X:\ Cache after trying to load an SP map, it shows the fonts folder, cache000.map 180MB, cache001.map 0MB, preferences.dat.

I guess for some reason its not loading cache001.map, although I have no clue as to why.

EDIT: I also seem to fail loading Lockout.

I've been having the Lockout problem for a while. It loads sometimes though.

That sounds like you might have something wrong with your DLC. My suggestion would be this:

Delete everything pertaining to halo2. Including DLC and saves. If you need, back up your saves on your computer. Making sure to delete the cache drives as well.

Once it's all deleted. Make a fresh install of halo2 on your hdd. Then try to load stuff from that. If that loads correctly, try the disc. Or try using the disc without any pre-installed content on your xbox. *as in, after deleting everything, pop the disc in and try*

Would maybe just reinstalling the DLC from the Multiplayer Map Pack disc fix the DLC stuff?

Should. I'd just delete all the DLC stuff before reinstalling, that way I know it's a clean install and nothing could be incompatible for whatever reason.

Dunno why, but formatting my X drive fixed the problem. Thanks to Xbox7887 for helping me out. ;) You too Kibito ;p
