HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I'm going to try to make a new mod, but I can't think of any ideas or themes for the map... how does everyone else come up with ideas? I'm thinking of just playing SP or XBL for a while and see if something pops up. Like if a find a part of SP I like or something....

I have a great Idea but I want to save it for myself. here are a few other Ideas that popped up.

Desert theme (I know used a lot but if you do it right it could be great)

An all out jungle theme (ok that was my idea but whatever......)

the map I suggest you do it on would be coagulation, relic, or sanctuary

You could even do a Halo theme or something, maybe take stuff from Halo 1 and do bitmaps based on the Halo universe.

Perhaps you could choose another game you like as well.

Wow, weird, I was actually thinking about a Jungle theme on Sanc, but I wasn't sure completely on how to do it. I know I would have to steal trees from other maps . I'll probably have to think through how to do it.

How do you come up with ideas, do they just pop up, or do you get them from people, or what?

I try thinking of skins and looks in SP that I would like to see in MP (I've never released a public mod though). I also take ideas from other ppl's skins.

No you just think about other games you have played and incorporate them into halo 2. like farcry made me like jungles. An awesome theme you could do is a boat race. spawn a bunch of machines on top of injected water and null out there shaders and then model a ghost to a boat model and you guys could race.
