HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I used to mod on Live and I got banned from Matchmaking (I know, I'm such an evil sinner) and I now wish to turn from my criminal path. Does anyone know the details on how to get unbanned and stay that way? I know I need a new GT, and I have Halo 2 on my HD, so how would I prevent getting banned again but still mod offline? Do I just need to stop TDATA modding? If you don't understand the question, I'll try to explain further, but not now. Also, I'm sorry if this belongs in a different forum.

no you need to stop modding on that xbox altogether. take off all of your mods and unmod your box. then make a new account. If you want to mod then you will have to mod and unmod your box everytime you want to switch from modding to live.

Do you mean take off all the softmod and other modded files or just switch it off?

switch it off as long as your tdata maps are not modded. just never mod through tdata folder. at the maps to the mainmenu that way when you switch your softmod bnack on you still have the game on your HDD and you arent banned.

So just no tdata modding and I should be fine? I want to be really clear on this, cuz if I mess up, thats another $50.

Yes, delete and re-download your mappacks and never mod TDATA again and you'll be fine.

i suggest u get a hardmod u can tell it to boot with a modded dashboard or the ms dash with the chip disabled

It was stupid of you to mod in matchmaking in the first place. I don't think you deserve a second chance. Don't get me wrong, i'm not attacking you as a person but your actions. Poor decision...

Every is intitled to their own opinions.. and whats all this install/uninstall softmod business? i can play live with my softmod on and im fine as long as dlc maps are proper

I can too but you still need to turn the softmod off to create an XBL account.

Not to be rude, but I'll have you know that I only modded custom games. Bungie bans you anyway and I knew it, and I thought it would be worth it. But I got bored with it and decided to stop. I didnt mod to win, I modded to have fun. If you dont believe me, well, thats your problem.

I had a few modified maps on my xbox, and my brother decided to go play matchmaking. I didn't even do anything and I get banned :\
