cool app someone should make

it would be sweet if someone combined the app MapConverterPro and a normal ppf patcher like ppf-o-matic. This would make it possible for someone that wants to take a mod from like halo 1 and put it into halo 2. look at it this way. I have seen a nuke mod in blood gulch, which was a sweet mod. but, lets say you want it in coagulation. you can switch the maps around or something and rename blood gulch to coagulation. then, you could play that map AND mod (halo 1 bloodgulch nuke) from halo 2, by replacing coagulation with that. plz dont say well y dont you do it cuz i cant code lol and besides i think it would be a really sweet mod. how many times have you seen a halo 1 mod and wanted it, but didnt have the game? then you could play it. just a good idea, tell me wut u think

Not possible.

Not possible because the map layouts for halo1 and halo2 are different. Renaming/changing sig wont do it.

Unneeded much(sputnik, or whatever's, post)? That'd be pretty cool, though.

They both run on Different Engines, this would only be possible if one were to Take all of the raw data (Bitmaps, Models, etc.) And put them into Halo 2, with correct UVW mapping, Scenery placement, everything. No single application would be able to do that, at least, not in the next 30 years.

Alot of you are saying useless crap.
They have totally different structures to get to the filetable, and i beleive the filetable is different too, and the headers, and the tags are also layed out different.
Almost every tag is differently layed out.
The filetables, unicode tables, header, and the raw is all different I also beleive. =|.

What, should I make it 40? Or do you know someone with so much knowledge of Programming languages and the Blam! or Blam! 2 engine that they could write a program to Decompile a Halo 1 Map, Build it into recognisable tags for the Blam! 2 engine, building the Halo 1 map BSP with Textures, UV Mapping and collision, thus making it playable in Halo 2?
If you find someone who can do that, please notify me.
Also, if you're thinking Prometheus, no.

I believe saying 30 years is a bit of an extreme and radical. These days with how technology is being developed it's very possible it can be done in much less time. Nobody really knows how much knowledge someone may have. You are just jumping to conclusions to early. If, 30 years from now, somebody does make the program after so long. I'll credit you, but until then, i'm gonna go ahead and disregard your comment on it.

Yeah, it's an OK idea.
Also I bet in 2-5 years we will have a halo converter for halo 1, 2, and 3.

Im sure the user that posted that didn't actually mean 30 years. Im sure he was exaggerating to show his opinion that It would take a long time.
