How to Make an Assault rifle

Now any/most N00bS can do this, go to the [Proj] tag find the warthog turret objects\vehicles\warthog\turrets\chaingun\weapon\bullet then extract meta inject meta over the smg objects\weapons\rifle\smg\projectiles\smg_bullet
Optional/Advanced:
now to balance the smg go to the weap plugin find the smg objects\weapons\rifle\smg\smg
change the following aquire target distance to 25 change auto_aim 1 to 6 and auto_aim 2 to 10 change the min and max rate of fire to 12 You should change minimum spread to 0.033457291 or higher and maximum spread to 0.05296925 I would recomend unchecking the box that says duelwieldable (for balance you do not want an uber weap at close range)
You can Pm with questions im currently trying to skin an assault rifle right now to inject over the smg (i can't skin wel my first model i made didn't fit) i wan't to make my own i don't want to copy any ones files if u ask u can repost this but u must give me credit!

This is a re-make of my old thread i posted about a year ago (i do not mod anymore i have a 360 im legit i do not have halo maps on my comp but i am a pwnage coder (not hex) i will give u tuts on makign weapons i no alot about halo and how things act infact i used to decrese the auto aim to make it so the sniper doesnt miss when peopel stand to close to walls

I'm sorry but did you honestly have to post this again. Its not making an assaultrifle at all. All you doing is swapping a projectile to get a different sound.

Agreed, this isn't making an assault rifle at all. Second we do not need a remake.
I have a tut. Go to Weap, BR, Firing Type, Full Auto, done. You have your assualt rifle, sir.

Actually that would make an MA5K as long as you take off the scope. They exist during Halo 2, but weren't in game do to the fact that they were to powerful.

This makes the SMG fire like as if it were an assault rifle the only difference is the skin.

rofl haha any way i see what he is saying although it is quite easy to do this only tells you how to change the projectile and sound, not actually inject the model and then skin it and then replace it for an smg

i can certainly make a better assault rifle then this. I could make one from scratch if need be. If, for example i wanted to recreate the h1 assault rifle there would be quite a few things i would do. some of which were already said (aim distance, accuracy, rate of fire) but an assault rifle goes much beyond this. ay respected modder would make an assault rifle with independent tags. I would not use, say the magnum projectile, but rather make a copy of the magnum projectile and its damage effects. I would make custom fireing effects with custom sounds. I would look to balance the damage of the assault rifle with its range and accuracy. what he posted here is an assault rifle, but not a very good one. but im not gonna release a mod, less take the time to please or prove anything to a **** on a forum.

t1x is right. at this point your all talk and no walk. theres a difference between saying what you are capable of and doing what your capable of.

Ok you said its n00b because I didn't duplicate the tags then fine anyone can duplicate the tags if they want pardon my n00byness for not reminding people.
In my tuts I don't tell people to duplicate tags because it confuses them.
Everyone stfu, this is a tut telling people how to turn an smg into an assault rifle you guys are saying its not an ar just because the skin well its pretty much exactly the same as the h3beta ar just the smg skin.
You wanna make a -Blam!- ing better ar then make one don't flame me because your jelous that you -Blam!- ing at life.

isnt the smg already automatic, thus doesnt already kinda act like an assault rifle, aside from the dual-weilding.
lemme point out a few things for you in your so-called tutorial
1. the smg, aside from the dual weilding, is like an assault rifle already, if anything it is a dual weildable halo 1 assault rifle with a different model. so already this tut is redundant, but i must continue.
2. why would you use an smg, use the battle rifle to make an assault rifle. reason being you ask? well thats simple...the battle rifle is a two handed weapon, like most high capacity assault rifles are. Thus it has the correct holding animations that an assault rifle would require if you wanted to make it realistic and look good.
3. with the correct version of entity (1.3.9 beta) upon duplicating a tag you can rename it to whatever you want. unless you cannot read, a correctly named tag, or for that matter tags, will not confuse anybody.
dude what im saying is that your tutorial is flawed. now i wont hold it against you that you didnt change the model or skin because that is a different tutorial. however, you could have put a little more effort into making an assault rifle.
BUT
someone is going to post a message after this one here saying something along these lines:
"If you think you can make a better tutorial, prove it"
if i see that there is a demand to make such a tutorial, i will, and i will show you how a real assault rifle is created and i will use a much faster, cleaner and efficiant way of doing it. no doubt this would be a waste of time on my part but if i must then i must, if only to nullify some B**chs

Thats pathetic, its no where near being an AR, its still an SMG, you can still dual wield, if im correct, its an SMG. The closest thing to an AR without modeling is the BR without a scope. It really is the same thing as the AR, just updated.

i agree with pt enough is enough i think he understands what we have said " even if it was mostly flame " to dull it down id say this what id call a half assault rifle i say half because 1 the animations are off so your going to have to fix that plus you have to fix damage of bullets ect for it when if you did use an br the damage would need to be changed maybe a little not alot and the animations are correct i know that the skin ect is another tut but what is being said is that using an smg to do this is well just retarded compared to using a br for an assault rifle sorry if you think this is flame im just saying what everyone else has but making it clear end of story

Can a mod close this thread its as flameproof as gasoline.
If I renamed this to how to make the smg be as good as the h3 ar no idoits would complain I can garentue 75% of the peopel who posted on this tpic did not even read it.
