Sweet Mod Idea *Long Read*

I have an idea, that experienced modders should look into. Back in the day when I tried a version of something like this it wasn't possible. Now I beleive it is easily. However, I can't mod since I got an Xbox 360 and sold my Modded Xbox to get it :( Anyways, it goes like this. It is a MP Mod, with a sp bsp conversion. Try and choose the largest bsp possible, a capital ship and an In Amber Clad should fit in it (I know there are scaled down versions too if needed)... :P Null the rest of the bsp stuff and make the sky into space. So right now it should just be an IAC and a Capital Ship in space. This is where it gets neat. The objective of the game will be to arm the bomb at your enemy's ship, "destroying it". There must be some platforms connecting the two ships, and each side will get numerous amounts of vehicles (Covenant Vehicles for the capital ship, human vehicles for the human side). Now, each side has one special feature in one of the vehicles. One of the few warthogs should have the covenant bomb seen in Single PLayer, replaced where the turrent is. Now, this should be the Assault Bomb, with the hlmt changed to the covenant bomb, so it acts as the assault bomb when playing assault. The warthog it's in should be stronger as the bomb will remain stationary in the hog and you have to drive the hog in the bomb zone, and one must stay in the hug so it can "Blow up". The explosion should be large, make it fancy :P Same goes for the covenant side except in the Spectre. The game switches once a bomb is armed so the explosion will create the illusion to the players that the ship is destroyed (When really that is not possible for us to do yet :P) One team spawns on the Covenant side, the other on the humans. Would be nice for Elites vs Spartans too, but that's up to the players. That's just the basic jist of it, but you can be creative to. I have some more details in a writeup I did of an early version idea what seems like a year ago, however this version is based on a neutral bomb cause. You can edit it to your liking as I know many of you can be much more creative. This was an early description and unfinished.

This mod is based on the Assault Gametype, so thats reccommended while playing, as thats what your using to blow up the ships and win the game *wink*

"What the hell! It's a covenant capital ship!" A voice yells. "No, not here, not now!" . "We have no choice, they are getting their weapons prepared. It's either we fight back, or let them destroy us."

Your a Spartan on the Red Team (Blues are Covenant) and you spawn on top of the In Amber Clad. You look around you and find theres no way to escape, if you jump down... you fall into eternal space. You must fight. You look around the top of the ship to find warthogs, a longsword, a pelican, a tank, and specialized turrents mounted along the side of your ship. You find weapons lying around for your use. Some Snipers, rockets, Battle Rifles, SMGs, and magnums. You pick up a sniper and rocket and see a bridge connecting your ship and the capital ship. In the middle is the bomb. The Nuclear bomb, ready to blow up the ship. 1 Bomb to win the game. You see the enemys going in Spectres, a Wraith, a Seraph, a Banshee, and seating in specialized turrents. You look at your teamates and see some hopping in a tank, and a longsword. Some of them jump inside the back of the Pelican as one rides in the front. It's just you and three other people and you decide to go in the guass warthog with two of them, the other goes on one of the rocket turrents along the side of your ship. "Lets give em hell." The fighting begins, you see your longsword bombing the banshee and getting shot down by the Seraph. The tank blows up the seraph heading towards your ship. Your pelican starts to shoot rockets down on the capital ship killing some armed elites. The pelican lands and drops of some of your teamates. Two of them get sniped and the pelican blows up by a Wraith. Your warthog is on the run towards the middle, but theres one thing stopping you from getting the bomb. A spectre, coming your way head on. The gunners aren't strong enough to blow up each other's vehicle and then you collide in the middle, both falling into eternal space. You jump out early, hoping to land back on the bridge, you're succesful... your teamates are not. Explosins are erruping everywhere around you and you grab the bomb in the middle, running for your life. A covenant turrnet starts to shoot large powerful explosions at you. You dodge some but get barley hit and your shield goes down. You call for backup and continue your stride to the other ship. A longsword comes in for backup and starts blows up the turrent. Soon a tank comes to defend. Then a warthog comes your way. The tank blows up from a seraph, which also takes down the longsword with luck. *Boom!* The seraph explodes after a rocket collides with it. Your warthog arrives unharmed and you jump in it. A banshee is on your tail and damages the hog, but the person in the gauss cannon shoots it down. Your warthog reaches the other ship and you jump out and run as fast as possible. You get into the arming station and start arming the bomb. Bam, you get sniped in the chest and start running around the arming station. The driver of the hog has a sniper. He takes it out and snipes the covenant sniper. *BOMB ARMED. BOMB PLANTED* You run like hell, as the warthog picks you up. You guys drive back furiously but realize theres no way to make it from an explosion that large. The bomb explodes, (the explosion will look like the on MC used on the capital ship in Cairo Station) and as your teamates see that, they root and holler, they have won. They realize the warthog crew who armed the bomb didn't make it, and thank them from sacrificing their lives to save them. Your team has won... won the Heavenly War.

No space ship Sp BSP is small enough to be converted right now. YOur idea may be possible using machs, though.

dont know about the hog tiggered bomb zone though, that might not be possable.

First you'd need some way of giving your ships collision. They'd either need to be actual bsp, or a mach, or vehi. Since no large ships (at least in the scale you're talking about) exist as a mach or vehi, and I don't believe there are any suitable bsps.... it's kind of a no-go. It may be possible, however, once we are able to edit phmo, to build a custom mach/bloc/whatever for the ships.

Second, you would need to find a way to change the arming conditions for the bomb. At present, the bomb must be held in someone's hands and carried into the zone to activate. For what you're describing, you'd have to change it to the vehicle being in the zone (might be possible through scripting, but I'm not sure).

Third, you'd have to have your ships destructible. That's as simple as adding a reflexive to the hlmt, but it won't result in anything visible. Ideally, you'd have the actual ship disapear and be replaced by several blocs modelled to look like the ship parts. If someone actually wanted to go to all that trouble, applied some good effes to the explosion, and all this were placed in a low gravity environment, it would be possible to achieve a fairly spectacular explosion. Especially if each of the blocs had full phmo as well, so they could bounce off eachother realistically in the low grav setting.

Anyway, if you could pull all that off (good luck, btw) then you could have a workable mod.

Once Halo 2 PC comes out that would be easy as cake. Man its really getting to me that H2 PC will be insanely easy to make awesome maps and here we are, we can't make phmo and coll models. Sorry bout the rant. But I doubt that is possible, but the inAmber clad is a piece of scenery so you could use that.

The hog, In my opinion would be an easy make.

First you swap the model of a normal assault bomb with the big cov bomb.
Second you put it as a replacement of the turret.
Third you drive to the bomb zone.
Fourth you get out of the hog, and get in the turret seat.
Fifth *BOOM*

You might have to make some swaps in insolence to make the bomb seem more like a weapon than a flag/bomb for you to be able to use it like a turret.
