How do I play Memesis-downloaded games?

Alright, before you get all pissy at me:

a. I searched for an already-posted topic about this, & i looked at the first 3 pages & didn't find anything I didn't already know.
b. I'm not a total idiot. I realize that problem is (most likely) that there's an update that I have that keeps me from being able to play the games that I downloaded from Memesis. All I need to know is how I get rid of that update. Oh, & also, will I be able to play on XBL still without that update? Not the maps from Memesis..I know I can't play those on XBL. But just will I be able to get on Halo 2 at all?

Again, I apologize if I'm a complete idiot. And if you know of a previous topic about this, feel free to delete this & PM me the link to the topic. I swear I won't be offended. Thanks.
