k im just wondering about 2 things here.

1. I made a mod and its about 98% complete. All thats left to do is fix a texture problem where the ground turns black at random times. I could be walking around and the ground goes black and oddly its the only thing that goes black. I only retextured the ground as far as the maps bsp goes. Why is the ground turning black?

2. I wanna know if its possible to completly null out a BSP. if so how would i go about doing that?

@ #2. I would say go into the scnr tag and null the bsp. I'm not quite sure though.

for black things use the halo machimina tool(known as lod remover)

You can do that but that takes up more ram which is not really a good thing, you might not of injected it right or try anthother plugin.

well the coag grass was just altered in Photoshop. I dont see how that could have screwed it up.

last time I checked, bsp's don't have Lod's... Lod's are for models...

About the black texture, it could be mip maps. But I am really not sure because I have never expierenced that problem...

About nulling a bsp, I am sure it is perfectly possible but once agian, I have never attempted to null one or tried to. I am thinking that there was a app made that could null it but I really can't remember because it was awhile ago  .

K well thansk all ioll check on this and see if i can fix this prob with the ground. Im not willing to release a buggy map to the public. Its becoming a serious thorn in my side.

Ill work on a nulling a BSP some other time.

once again thanks all

make sure you're checking "generate mip maps" when you save your texture , that can be the problem, or try antoher plugin.

k I injected this very same ground texture into a brand new coag and FTPed it to my box and it worked fine with no prob. but on my modded map it goes black at random times. So i came to a possible conclusion that my map may be doing it. The ground texture was the last thing i changed so could that be the problem?

might be, with the coag tat you just injected it on, mod it now with the bitmap already applied, see if it works

K i found the prob. The problem was the coag_ground texture not the coag_grass texture. Coag ground is for the dirt paths on the map. THe black spots were coming through the coag_grass texture. If ya look at coag_ground then you will see black areas where the grass is. So for future reference to all, watch out for that coag_ground texture lol
