Is there anyway to make grav diff in diff areas?

Discuss Halo 2 modding, progress on figuring things out, mapfiles...you know the drill. Cheating discussion not allowed.

OK what I've been thinking about for a mod is make a ring that has gravity all around it like a mini halo, but I can't think of a way to accomplish this, Any suggestions?

first of all do you even know how to edit gravity in a map? Only members of broken halo know. Another thing is soldier of light said that you cannot put gravity in a certain spot. So this is not possible since there is no script command for it.
Your sig can't exceed 500x120 in size.

On Quaratine zone, on the gondola, theres some kind of tether that keeps you from sliding off the gondola, so if theres some way to tether players objects, etc to pieces of the ring then its possible, but I don't know anything about this tether so i don't know how to import it, and manipulate it.
EDIT: Stupiddy

i dont think you are tethered to it, i think it's just basic physics that keeps you on it.

In Halo 2, the physics allow objects to carry players, just try it out with the warthog, if you go at top speed you will NOT fall out (unless you turn or hit a bump or something stupid like that)

No, there definitively is a box of different physics that keeps you on the gondola, I got this theory from prince of the sword at HIH. I know that its true because if you get on one of those glass walls in the back and jump onto one of those things you will keep going, even if you wall the other way, but eventually you'll stop because you're far enough away from the gondola, now I just need to know how to use this.

What you're thinking of, mammoth, isn't a 'tether' - it's one of Newton's laws. The whole 'inertia' thing happening. In case you didn't notice, the gondola moves pretty fast - and you are on the gondola before you jump off to the side, which means you're moving at the same speed.

Believe me, you are just standing on top of a moving piece of scenery, it works the same way as with a moving vehicle. Seriously try it, go onto the bridge on easy (on coop), kill everything and have your partner jump on top of the warthog. Then you drive, you'll stay on it as long as you don't do something stupid like hit a bus or turn really fast. The gondolas are moving straight and fairly slow compared to a warthog, so there is no chance of getting thrown off.

I know theres a tether, one you will not slow down at all when you go off the gondola until your behind it
and I can't think of a two

Mammoth, read my post again. There's no tether. It's just the momentum of the master chief that's carrying you along, once you jump off of the gondola.

Heh, I just played QZ (first time playing SP in a long time), and you're right, mammoth. There is something wierd going on there, and I don't think it can be attributed to momentum :P
