Duplicate a vehi properly?

Ok, here's my dealio!


I modded the hog and it was bangin, then I was like 00hh h4x!@!111 Let me duplicate the hog and it's models and the hlmt so I could have 2 hogs with 2 skins and be able to tell them apart. So I did that and changed the ghost vehc to my new duplicated hog with the new duplicated model and new duplicated hlmt.

I tried to load up my map and bang, it froze.

SOO, i said, "Holy bat poop Robin! Let's try just copying the warthog and changing it with the ghost with no duped models or hlmt."

It froze again!

How do I duplicate the warthog so that I can have 2 totally diff hogs in one map.

My goal is to have multiple hogs in one map that I can tell the diff just by looking at their model shaders or their skins. But they always freeze. :(


Any ideas?

Duplicate the mode, vehi, and bitmap. That should be enough. Then just refrence them all together with Insolence or Dothalo or something.

Try swapping the ghost in the mulg tag instead of the vehc one. If my understanding of vehc it correct, it's tied too closely to the vehi to be swappable.
If you want one of the hogs to be a guass and the other to be normal, change the hog in the vehc to guass. The one from mulg will come out default. (It's possible that mulg allows you to select the variations--can't remember.)
Your process of duplicating should work, though. If you can't get it to work at all, try spawning the second one through the collection instead.

you can also use entity's "duplicate recursively" option and it will make a replica of the entire hog

Thanks guys. Spawning through the vehc tag works fine. I changed the ghost with the banshee and it worked great. I can't wait to try this. I'll post my results. :D

EDIT: I did the recursive duplicate, I then changed the spectre spawn in the MULG tag to the new hog, I also changed the magnum projectile to the new hog just to test it if the spectre thing froze.

The both froze. :(
