Spawing vehicles from guns w/o meta swaping.

Post by DeviousDave »

Since meta swaping is gay I'm trying to have say the smg spawn warthogs when you fire it but can't figure out how to do it without metaswaping. Is there a way?

I've tried changing the proj to vehi and changing the dependancy to warthog (somehow I knen that wouldn't work before I tryed it)

I've also tryed changing the models, skins, ect of the projectile to the warthog but that didn't work and
I'm guessing if it did it would spawn a banshee that disapeared when it hit a wall since I did that with the br. I made it shoot tires instead of bullets (lol one hell of a weapon since the tires have their own physics the move moveable things like the crates on elongation really far and kill in one hit) but they disapeared when they hit the wall and are invisible.

My friends is crazy and he was over and wanted to make elongation with vechicles (specificaly guns that spawn vehicles =S). lol it was pretty fun to play till I tried to change the pipes on the celing to fire.. the little broken ones work and the steam works but I'm thinking the ones on the celing are why it doesn't load anymore. lol he absolutely loved the master chiefs and eliets on the conveyorbelts instead of the boxes.

Anyway now you know why.

I wouldn't recomend using the SMG for this but...Go to weap tag and choose your weapon and go to the Depedencies window and find the proj tag. Click it and go to the top of the Dep window and change the Class to vehi and then change the other drop down box to warthog. Then click Save Changes in the Dep window. Then go back to the Tag Editor window, with your weapon still selectd. Then scroll all the way down and click the Projectile drop down box and change it to 0. Then change the X cord to 1.5. Thats way you don't kill yourself when shooting.

Hm... that was my initial thought on how to do that but when I tried it it didn't work... I'll try it with a clean map and nothing else changed. It might've been that I had a different effect instead of the muzzle fire and it didn't exist in the map or something. I'll do it clean and see if that works.

Make after you change things in the Dependency window you save in the Dependency window. Then save in the Tag window.
