Why do you spell Banshee with a C?

did you try the color change bitm yet?

spelling banchee with a C is a typo.... oops
and colour changing the bitmap, i removed all the colour from it so its black / white, and it still has a purple tint over everything, i think it might be the shader or something, bbut im not sure.

i replaced the shader with the Warthog Hull one, and it llost its bullshit shine, but it then recived the texture of the warthog hull, so i opend the .shad in insolence and changed the bump bitmap to banchee plate bump, and changed the other one to banchee plate bitm and it stayed the same, i resigned, deleted cashe and it stayed the same, the texture from the warthog hull, i have no idea why, any ideas on why it didnt change?

What exactly did you do? Like how did you change the bitmaps?

i went to .shad in insolence and found the shader that i duped (warthog chassis)
in dev mode i went to unknown 3 of the Warthog Chassis Dup'd shader, and under dependancys i found the bumpmap link, so i changed that to banchee plate bump.
and in the dependancys of unknown 1 i found the normal texture wich i linked to banchee plate btm,
and it didnt have any affect atall, it still looks like the underside / engine of the jeep.

Um.... hm. Dunno' man.
I've seen people talk about the purple glow thing before and there's supposed to be an easier way to get rid of it. There should be something in the banshee shader or something that can be nulled out. I'm surprised nobody has come along with the answer yet, 'cuz I was under the impression it was semi-widely known. Unfortunately, I never paid attention 'cuz I'm not so much into skinning.

ah, ok, well, unless i find the awenser in a few days, the X-16 will have a dodgy looking back end.

funny, im starting to look into the shaders and stems to get custom effects, anyway i noticed the same thing happening to me when swapping stuff. If i get anything close i will post a pic, if it is what you want or if i get anything that looks cool ill say what i did.

I know this is a double post but i wanted to mark it new.
After messing a bit i found out that somewhere in the stem is where how shiny the object is, i just need to find out where the color of the shine is though.
i know this is the opposite of what you wanted but i though it would be interesting to put a pic of the extra shinny banshee.
im starting to think there might be some bitm info in the stem tag

that top one looks bronze and the bottom one looks like a shader swap

they werent a shader swap, it was a stem swap. so im trying to figure out how these things work.
Edit: also i found that there is some LOD bitmap info in the shader because i got the banshee to look black only when upclose.

I think i got it

! i actually found the value for the shineyness of something, i aslo changed a few values and made the banshee white like it is in its plate bitm without touching a bitm at all. Ill post a pic later.

I would be VERY interested in more information on what you did, Turk. Also, have you got anything on luminosity?

Actually the shineyness value was right under our noses, but i still have to find out what i did to make the banshee white instead of purple. I have a few ideas but im still looking into it. And the luminosity thing might be in the stem but i honestly dont know. If i do find out anything i will post it though, along with pics.

it's been over a day so i dont think the double post should matter.
Anyway i found out a little more about the shader. Apparantly i only got the white effect from setting the shine to an insanely high amount. I also found the brightness of the object which might give it the illuminated effect snaku wanted, pic will be up when im done testing stuff, and i might have found the intensity of the shine.
Edit: well aparantly i messed up on a value or two but i did come to a new set of descoveries, i might have found the saturation of the bitm, which means i have the banshee perfect for dazzajay. pic will be up once transfered
