I met a person who claimed that they could make weather like snow or rain appear on coag, or any other weatherless map for that matter. Does anyone know how to do this or know where a tutorial on this is? Please help.
thanks,

Its not possible yet i have tried this but not enough is known about weather yet. So i dont see this happening until there is some more research done.

I bet it's doable, though. Perhaps in a similar manner to the water injection.

ok, the guy i talked to ( for like 40 seconds) said you had to add a 2 chunks to creat a new itmc for the weather and for the bitmaps....link the blanks chunks to the bitmaps and to the weather ( that was injected ) and give it a spawn so it shows up..... and also put the itmc (s) in the scnr tag. this all ready sounds confusing; does it strike thought with any of you guys?
thanks,

I think it is do able. You have to use Insolence to transfer the Weather and use ADI to get it working. I saw a tut on halokit.

Just look in the Halo 2 Tutorials Section.
EDIT: Here is the tut. I found it on
www.halokit.com, I did not make this tut!
Adding New Weather
This Tutorial is on how to move weather from one map, into another and get it working
Difficulty: 3/10
Step 1: Needed Equipment
Modded Xbox
Halo 2 On your PC
Halo 2 On your Xbox
Insolence
ADI
FTP access
Step 2: Geting the weather into your map
Open Insolence
Open the map you want the weather in, then
Click open map, then open the map file that has the weather in you want Scroll down to the [weat] tag (some maps do not have it)
Click once on the tag
Then drag it into the *map of your choice* window
It will popup with a window saying
Moving... then after a while it will say
Relinking..
It might take a while..
After thats done, fix the maps signature and close them both
Step 3: Making the weather work P1
Go to the [scnr] tag
Then under the Reflexives List there should be one called
Weather
Click that
Click Dependencies, and change the weather tag that is already there to the one that you have added
Then close Insolence
Step 4: Making the weather work P2
Open ADI and the map that you have added the weather to
Then go to the [sbsp] tag
You should see a [weat] tag
Change it to the [weat] tag that you added from the other map
Step 5: Signing, FTPing and Playing
Now Sign the map in Dothalo or in another map signer
Close the map
FTP it to your xbox
Load the level and your map should have new weather, eg rain from Warlock, or Fog from Backwash

Thats a good tut, but i've done that. Im trying to add weather to a map that doesnt have any. The tut you posted basically tell you how to overwrite existing weather with weather that was added. I'm trying to add lockouts snow to coag. There is no existing weather to overwrite. Any ideas on how to make it show up?

like i dontknow getting it into 3ds max then just adding a particle system?
Lol, just like that eh? You make it sound soo simple. Once you get inside 3dsMax, then how do you plan to recompile?

adding a particle system in 3ds max won't work, that would be ridiculus

You have to somehow insert the weather reflexive into the scnr tag. (I think

)

weather is in the sbsp not the scnr
