New to Modding

I'm sure there is probably a topic like this somewhere and I just over looked it. I'm COMPLETELY new to modding. I've decided to start modding because Halo 2 is starting to get old to me and...the modding videos I've seen online are completely badass. I'm just wondering where to start so if someone could like post some starter tips or a link where I can find some that'd be awesome.
