Using Trainers With Update

Hello everyone. As you know, the Halo 2 update blocks you from using trainers. I'd like to play trainers and new maps at the same time. To do this, you have to edit the default.xbe for the update. I need some help though. Can someone please provide me with the starting offset and the ending offset for the part of the update that blocks trainers? Thanks!

No... If you actually read everything I typed, I said I'd like to use the trainers with new maps. New maps need the update to work...

Than why don't you just add them to your mainmenu...

I think what he's getting at is that he wants to use them on XBL. (Or atleast that's what it sounds like.)

I do not even have Xbox Live. And also, if you were to edit the update, it would make you re-download it. They have fixed that with their last upsate. >.> Is someone going to help me now, or what?!

you cant edit a .xbe to work with a update... trianers are .xbe specific.... you have to make a trainer specifiaclly for that .xbe in order for it to work

I am not going to edit the trainer. I am going to edit the update. If someonme just tells me the starting and ending offsets then i can delete all of that out and you should beable to play new maps and use trainers at the same time.

Uhhh, if
you listened to what shade said, trainers are made to work with specific xbe's, they will not work with any other xbe, even if you change these magical 'offsets' you seem to be talking about

OMFG. Listen. The new Halo 2 update blocks Halo 2 trainers, correct? You need the update to use new maps though. So I want to edit the udate, and take out the strings that block trainers from running, so you can play new maps and trainers at the same time. Does anyone understand what I am trying to do?!

It doesn't block anything. THE TRAINER DOES NOT WORK WITH THE UPDATED 1.1 WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU DO TO IT.

its not that itsa blocked, its just that its made for the opriginal default.xbe. its not made to run with the update, so you need to remove the update so that it only runs the orig xbe.

man this kids alittle slow eh? first of all the update most certainly does not block trainer use your just not using a trainer that was made for the updated xbe.. it was just harder to train the new xbe than the old one lol

The reason trainers don't work on any autoupdates is simply due to the fact that they are different xbes, therefore have different timestamps. If you are running any autoupdates the trainer won't even initialize at startup. Even if you decided you are this awesome hexing god and replace the new timestamp with the old one...whenever bungie decides to update, they change some things around and recompile which shifts lots of the code around. The assembly of that changes drastically so it would just hang on startup because you would be modifying all sorts of stuff you're not supposed to.
