Bsp Magic question

Post by XxSilencedDeathxX »

My WIP, BSP Conversion

Now I need help with the BSP Magic..How do I change it?

I know the size, its 4096. Insolence says the Primary Magic Meta Offset is 2148478976. Do I just replace the values in the tag with these? Do I do it in Insolence or in hex? I'm asking because after I do every step, I get an arithmetic overflow error in ADI or in anything.

-----------------------

*Snaps fingers*

I got the map to load but everything was black...I couldn't move anything but the camera. Also..does SP_Shared use a lightmap? I nulled out coag's but I'll see...

LMFAO I just noticed there were 4 other raw files I forgot to add so that might explain it. >_<

Just wondering why you would need that offset cause you only need the offset for the map your injecting the bsp into, unless we arent talking about a sp-mp conversion.

well first click on the starting point of where you want the block to start. Then go to edit select block dec if it allows you, and from current posiosion and then put your number in the box. This is from memory so it is not exact.

Where are we at?(and do you have hex workshop?) If there is no "select block" in the edit tab then something is wrong.(You might not have clicked on a place in the file.(A pic might also be nice))

Can't use hex workshop. Expired. :( :(

I think the only ersion that didnt was the very first one, which I cant install because it wont let me. :x

I'm using Cygnus now and its the next best free hex editor.

Well if it doesnt work try version 3 of hex workshop. I think it is free and has everything you need.

Yeah, I got up to the part where I need to fix the BSP Magic. I skipped it and did everything else, but I dont know or get the part in the tutorial on how to do this.

[quote="Tutorial"]Step3: Fixing The Bsp Magic
-Seeing as how we are going to have a new bsp in our map we need to fix the bsp magic and size, to get the bsp magic and size we open the shared.map and go to scnr->Structure BSPS then copy down the structure bsp size and primary offset and replace them with the values of the bsp size and magic in the map we are converting the bsp to(coagulation)
*Shared.map can

Well if you didn't know, you use insolence for step 3. So yes he does mean SCNR->Structure BSP. Also, I think the size is the bytes of the bsp that you injected but I am not cirtain.
