Moving backgrounds/textures

Does anybody know how Greennc did the animated sky in his Lost Temples mod? Or how he did the lava flow looking thing in Mount Doom? In that one, he also had the bowl part of Ascension looking like a lava flow... like it was moving and everything.
I tried pm'ing him, but he didn't answer (maybe he hasn't been on the site recently).

can you make a dds animated? like make a gif animation then convert it?

lol, poor guy. i do have ulead gif animator, but i need something to animate

Just make like the skin of a gun blue then change to green, then change to red or something.

those arent animated skins. They are shader swaps. You take t alphagasgiant ROB.shad, inject it into a MP map, then find the clouds bitmap fo it change that to anything u'd like, go tot hte SBSP tag, and find what you want to be animated, swap that shader for the alpha gas giant rob, and boom, a moving skin.

Thank you. I had started exploring in greennc's maps and had noticed that alpha gas thing but wasn't sure it was what I was looking for. I don't suppose the speed can be changed, can it?
