so i like to think im a little bit of a texture modder, and i would like to know what you think...
here are my 5 best jeeps....

#1 The Pothole Studios Jeep, with fully pimped out fluffy pink seats.
Image

#2 The Commie Jeep, i made this jeep for a friend who is russian.
Image

#3 This jeep was designed off my armour colour & logo.
Image

#4 This jeep is designed for a character in Act 3 of the Totally Random Series at Pothole Studios.
Image

#5 This is my first ever jeep, plain, blue, simple.
Image

i know that the tyres on some shots are not right, because there has been an unsolved bumpmapping problem going on.

Ignoring that, tell me wich you like!

i didnt remodel it, Snaku showed me how to remove the bones on the tyres / suspension / rear bumperbar, wich causes them to not appear, and Focused Soul showed me how to make a 800 second plazma grenade, and how to make it fire out of a plazma pistol, ( i wish they were on there from spawn, but sadly there not :-(

Man I feel all special. Glad to help. I think figuring out the stuff for you brought me closer to solving the other stuff I'm working on.
So you pull the trigger and it puts the 'nades on it? And then they just make the trails when you move (part of their normal properties)?
As far as making them there from the get-go, that would be cool. Maybe it could be done be assigning extra seats, placing them on the back there, and replacing them with plasma grenades. I haven't even touched that stuff yet (still working on the first freakin' step of my mod) so I don't know what all can be done with it. I just asked one time if it would be possible to attach a vehi to another one, like as an integrated part, not like it could seperate in game or anything. I was told it could be assigned through the seat thing, so I don't see any reason a 'nade couldn't be. Obviously, it'd be the proj, not the actual 'nade. Maybe I'll look into it later.

I was reading your topic with the mode modding, and it helped me a great deal as well. I think I'm going to make my first mod and base it around that concept. Gonna call it ...improvise. The best thing I've figured out so far is to disconnect the pod from the banshee.

Hold on, how do the grenades get there? Did you stick them on manually, or do they appear when you pull left trigger in the hog?

yeah, i fire them out of a plazma pistol, i have many different concepts for "engines" even one idea, i stick them to where the rear suspension shafts used to come out, and that looks pretty cool.... but i mainly aim for the "Enterprise" version of engines....

yes the grenades have that trail as standard, the only time it is seen is when whatever they are stuck to is moving fast.

First. ftp the map you want to change from your xbox.(And Make a backup! i cant stress how important this is... it is even worse for me, my Modbox has no cdrom)

The first part we are removing the Suspension & wheels.

Step 1, Open the map in Insolence. (For this tutorial i will be using Turf.)

Step 2,go to the folder named [mode] then in there find objects\vehicles\warthog\warthog open it by doubble clicking.

Step 3. change "edit mode" to "dev mode" by clicking on it.

Step 4. click "Bone"

Step 5, in the drop down box you should see numbers.click on 2. this should be the lb_suspension.
Image

step 6, change the Parent number and the first child number to -1.
Image

Step 7, repeat Step 6 on the numbers 3, 4, and 5 in the dropdown box.

Step 8, (Optional) i also think a flying jeep has no use for a rear bumper, so it can be removed by clicking 1 in the drop down box and changing its parent to -1.

Step 9, close insolence.

Step 10, if using a download map like me, then you need to use a different sig proggie designed for those maps. otherwise, just resign normaly.

now... Making the jeep fly.

Step 1, open the map in Dothalo.

Step 2, Go to the [Vehi] tag and open Objects\veichles\warthog\warthog

Step 3, in tag editor change this....
Image

Step 4, close and resign.

Turret Removal (Optional)

Step 1, Open the map in CH2R

Step 2, go to oblects, then vehicles, then warthog, then Turrets, then Chaingun.

Step 3, Rightclick Chaingun.mode and click swap

Step 4, Choose Null_up and press the [CHANGE] button.
Image

Step 5, Close and resign.

and that is baisicly it.

just ftp it back to the box.

:::EDIT:::
i forgot to say... the grenades that are on the back, there easy to do, its a projectile swap with the Plazma Pistol, and the nades timer has been changed to 999, and some other stuff was changed to 999, i think bounce distance in one.

I've continued with my vehicle experiments since our last discussion. Here's the result: the Skyram (working title)

Note: I've actually changed it a bit since these pics were taken. I've squashed the longsword back a bit. It's still just as wide, and as tall, but I shortened it length-wise, so it starts a bit further back on the tank. It makes it look a bit more like it was built for ramming into things.
This is similar to my suggestion for adding wings to your hog, Dazzajay.
