HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I'm new to the modding scene and as i read through all these forums, i keep seeing everyone talking about dark matter so i decided to download it. Now that i have it, i have two questions.

A. What does it do different from other programs such as Dot Halo, ADI, etc.

B. Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to use it.

I've tried using the search to find the tutorial, but as everyone knows, the search isn't all that great here.

DarkMatter allows you to inject you own models into the game, add stuff to a map(insolence can do this too but in a different way) and it also lets you move parts of a maps bsp around. Or other machines and stuff on the map can be moved with its bsp viewer.

I think I like this one better: http://teamhlo.com but I'm not exactly super experienced, so my judgment isn't the best to rely on as to which is better.
You'll want to make an account on teamhlo if you go to that one (see below). Then click knowledge base. Then Halo 2. Then there's a plethora of tuts, including a good one about darkmatter.
