Why are weeds so persistant?

-sighs- I was looking in insolince for a hwile tring to find a way to null out the weed bitmaps. but find nothing.
Then I decided to use CH2R because of it's swapping ability.
I find the bitmap and expect "nulled out" to be a option... but its not there... How the heck do I get rid of these demonic things?
